You’re The Best Thing About Me” by U2 repeats at #1 on the Rock n Roll for Grownups chart.

Moving into the top 10 is “Revolution” (#8) by newcomer Van William featuring Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit, who themselves debut with “It’s A Shame” (#46).

Also new this week is “Blackness Of The Night” (#49) by Yusuf (the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens). It’s a remake of one of his songs from 1967. Country-blues veteran Lee Roy Parnell debuts with “Hours In Between” (#50).

After 21 weeks, “The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness” (#48) by The National is about to fall off the chart. It was #1 for four weeks and is a strong contender for the biggest song of 2017.

Tom Petty’s death Monday was quite a blow to the rock world. Aside from all his radio classics from the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s, Petty continued to create great music this decade. His more recent songs didn’t get as much airplay – not because of a decline in quality, but due to a decline in quality radio stations.

His last album, 2014’s Hyponotic Eye, produced “American Dream Plan B” and “U Get Me High” – a “double-sided” single that was #1 for three weeks on the Phoenix 50. He will be greatly missed.
